Sess 45 new song.

Real quick now. I don't have too much time.. I feel like I need to update every now and than to keep yall coming here. I made the mistake once too many to not post anything for months like I didn't listen to rap music anymore. Well I did, I was just way too lazy to do bullshit posts as this even, one song one post.

So, Sess 45. He's somewhat famous, a known figure in New Orleans. His music, nuthin but fire (as his 2004 album was called).. Before getting this song sent to me by Go DJ's I hadn't heard any other music from him than mentioned album. That was some straight gangsta bounce shit, sounded hella Lousiana. Soulja Slim was on there.. I might post that sometime.. Anyways I've been bumping this song daily since I first heard a few weeks ago. Mostly the beat is what I favor, as it sounds very very DJ Black N Mild, who is my favorite bounce producer.. This isn't a full out bounce song, but it got that beat and the background vocals to speed it up and give that Rhytm-n-Bounce sound, with the chorus is sweetly sung by Ms. Tee.

Sess 45 - Stingy Ft Ms. Tee

Get with it.

BOUNCE MUSIC!

Since above compilation dropped the other week I've been bumping like 80% per cent bounce music.. I have those weeks every now and than. I haven't really talke much about bounce music on this site, so this post might come unexpected. Anyhow, Shake Twerk & Wobble Vol. 2 is awesome (as is 2007's Vol. 1). It's neo-bounce, rhythm-n-bounce, or just New Orelans Bounce Music, whatever you might call it. It's still being done and it's being done well. The good people at the Bouncespot put this out on the labels Take Yo Shirt Off Records and Gutta Bounce Music (I think I got that right).

And since I love bounce music so much, I felt I needed to mention this release, and share a probably fairly unheard bounce record, at the end of the post. First lets focus on this new ish, starting off with the pre-release ad video for said record:

Just look at this tracklist, you know you will love Shake Twerk & Wobble Vol. 2 as much as you loved Vol. 1.

Shake Twerk & Wobble Vol. 2

1. Intro - Took
2. Holla At Cha Ex Freestyle - Gotty Boi Chris
3. Drop Real Low - MC Shakie
4. Smoking Gun - Magnolia Shorty

12. Go Crazy - Sissy Nobby
13. Birthday Sex Remade - Dj Majah & Blaq Biggie Blaq
14. Obsessed Bounce Mix - B. Ford
15. Walk Wit It (Emynd Bounce Remix) (feat. Took) - Big Ramp
16. My Boi Friend - Deja Vu
17. Heartbroken (Gutta Bounce Mix) - Took
18. Clap Again (Gutta Bounce Mix) - Took
19. Out There In Them Streets - Kilo & Eurika

A few of these songs was already leaked when the album dropped last week, some leak over a year ago even. Usually found at Nola Bounce. Of course after seeing this ad video all of you will go straight to itunes and purchase the record, if you can afford to. If you don't have the money right now, click on the titles on the tracklist which are bold and you'll find a download link to that song (or the version that previously leaked actually). So, fuckin get with this, it's good fuckin music.

And this oldie album than, it's none other than Chev Off The Ave's mysterious Straight Off The Ave. I found this album online a few years back, I wish I remembered where, maybe I could learn something about this release. Because I really don't know anything about it. I tried google, and since that's really all I got there really isn't anything more to do. Other than to post a blog post on the internet and hope the next person who googles Chev Off The Ave ends up right here, and decides to post a thorough comment going thru the entire life story of this classy sissy. And give me a mp3 of Chev's most famous song (which is not on this album):

What little internet told me about Chev, expect he was a sissy bounce artist active in New Orleans during the beginning of this past decade. Which I already knew. Emynd put him on his magnificent bounce mixtape a few years ago, and he mentions Chev might no be doing sissy bounce music anymore. And I read somewhere else he moved to Houston and gave that gay shit up, "he don't do that anymore".

About this record, it got skits and all which obviously tells us it is a thought thru records and not just some thrown together compilation. I'd be glad if someone told me more about all these features aswell. I identified a few, two to be exact. The excellent Hot Boy Ronald and someone called Donkey Boy Tony <- awesome name. Dear God this post is getting way too long, I didn't mean for it to be. This means I will not edit it at all, I never do. But if a post is shorter there's still a bigger chance I spot any misstakes, as sentences I re-did and forgot to erase the first attempt or entire pices accidently written twice. Anyways, I don't think I mentioned how much trouble I have been having finding any information about this record online, I must have tried 10 times since I first downloaded it years ago. That's why I feel confindent no one will be too upset of me sharing the entire record. I usally don't like to post entire albums, unless I feel they are rare and need exposure or can't be bought un-used. Every song on here isn't super good anyways, but the standouts is really good. As my favorite "Picture This".

Young Money connections.

LIL ZA! THE YOUNGEST BALLA OF THEM ALL!

This entire post comes from me looking around the Young Money site for the first time and getting suprised by what I found. So I decided to write a bullshit post and share some random songs I thought of while strolling around the home site of this young southern rap crew.

I've been slow on getting up on the rise of Young Money and what that might mean, only a few years ago (maybe even last year) they where nothing but sparring partners for Lil Wayne. Only YM rapper I remember from those days is Currensy. That doesn't really matter though, because now, as I just realized, they're kinda big. Even commercially, they might be on television and radio in Sweden soon, and I'd be damned if my friends lil sisters could name more rappers in a southern rap crew than I can. It almost happend before.

As I looked thru the list of the 25 latest Young Money songs free for download I to my suprise noticed there was a remix with Lil Chuckee of a song by party-bounce duo Da Block Burnaz.

Da Block Burnaz - Late Night (Remix Ft Lil Chuckee)

These guys dropped this album in 2004:

...and on that album they had a really dope song which also made this classic compilation hosted by bounce producer hero Peacachoo:

Audio:

Da Block Burnaz - Work That Thing Ft Magnolia Chop

Gotty Boy Chris - She Make Me (Laard)(Prod Peacachoo)

That's the New Orleans connection I didn't know about. But that sorta made sense, Lil Wayne and all those Squad Up members (Gudda Gudda had a great mixtape this year) aswell as Lil Chuckee are New Orleans natives. What I had no clue about was that Young Money has ties to my 2007 summer hero Lil Za. I didn't even know he was old enough for Young Money yet. He has been around for a while, he and his crew B.O.C. They're from Dallas or some smaller town somewhere in east Texas. Apparently Lil Za is in a group called Young Hot Boyz with Lil Chuckee and texan Lil Twist, whom I only heard of before thru Lil Za's tweets. Young Hoy Boyz. What you think about that? I think it could be great, I wouldn't say it's Young Moneys biggest hope, but still, the idea of a teen version of the Hot Boyz irrationally makes me hope they will make music as good as the original Hot Boyz did when they where teenagers.

Young Hot Boyz - Have You Seen Her

If I have to decide I'd say I liked Lil Za better when he did swanging music, or maybe that's just how I labled him as an artists and I'm unable to appreciate the progress he has made. This is how awesome he used to sound when he was like seven or eight years old

i'm lil za, you won't believe i'm only eight
playin ps2, and man 2000 tre
no pants no play*
yes it's in stores
watch so many screens like that's my chores
screens on my floor, shoes air force ones
if it aint that, it's air jordans
lil za and dsr represent yo click
youngest balla of them all so my pockets thick

*i might have missheard that one, the line doesn't really make sense to me.

Lil Za - Raindrops Ft Tum Tum & Fat Bastard

It's swanging, Fat Beezy is on it, fuckin get with it.
And that's it.

Bonus audio:

Lil Za - Only Can Be Me

B.O.C. - Fuck All of Yall Ft Z-Ro

Oh, almost forgot. As I'm writing this Lil Za is tweeting more or less every minute to let us know his mixtape drops really really soon, like within hours. So get on his twitter!

Will anybody evar read this?

Alright.. So I haven't posted anything since, eh December, that's like last month right. Almost forgot about this site, till I got a reminding e-mail saying some dude posted a comment on an old post giving me props. Which obviously was a nice change of e-mail topic, usually all I get is electronic bills and penis enlargement ads, don't pay much attention to neither. So anyhoo, I've stayed in Canada for a bit skiing, which is why there's a pic of me skiing above. I didn't work any for two months and spent my days skiing, drinking beer and basically let my hair down. After three not actually that tough years of working I felt I needed a couple of months of vacation, fuck being grown up.

Biggest reason I haven't posted any is, this is a music blog right, I barley listened to any music. We stayed eight people in a house, three in each room. None of the people I stayed with enjoyed music containing words such as bitch or hoe mucho, which I do. Sexist music is like my way of dealing with the passive aggression anyone and everyone (even nuns and Buddhists and such I bet) have a bit of towards that other sex, or something. And we didn’t have a stereo in our Chevy, so we sung Minnie Riperton while driving and listened to Swedish suicide-pop-sans-words-like-bitch-or-hoe whenever we had a stereo.. One night I spent drinking at some bar there was a live act, some DJ playing techno and rapping to it and his Russian broad singing choruses. That might have been my worst music moment evar.

But who cares really. From like five hours of bumping a day to ten minutes. I couldn’t even name five albums released in 2008 I’ve listened to. So, as I write this I’m not sure what this post is going to be about really. I just wanna keep this thing alive I guess. I’m working on a few WYDU posts with actual content, might be a bit till I post that though.

Actual beginning of the post: The few weeks I’ve been back in Stockholm I’ve pretty much haven’t listened to any music not from Louisiana, mostly New Orleans and Baton Rouge obviously. Which means plenty violent gangsta rap and New Orleans Bounce. Good looking Twankle & Glisten, got plenty of this shit from there.. There’s so much jamming music from there, act I never paid any attention to before really surprised me. So, her we go I guess. As always, just jams, not saying these are the best or even among the best from there.

UNLV – Drag ‘Em ‘n tha River (1996)

UNLV is from New Orleans and the name stands for Uptown Niggas Living Violent, which seams to fit them pretty well. There album is filled with sweet violent gangsta tales. This is a Mystikal diss and possibly a Baby diss as well. Apparently Yella Boy, one of the three rappres in the group were shot and killed. A murder some connects to this beef. I wouldn’t know, people seams to shot each other for pretty much no reason down there… I just read this on their wikipedia page, so it’s not like I would know anyways. It’s a god damn hard track anyhow, and at the same time melodious. Gansta lyrics to a beat which is mainly great because it’s simplicity, fast drum pattern with consistent piano loop and some dude yelling un-irritating in the background. Ahead of it’s time?

Choppa – Straight From The N.O. feat. Big Man (2003)

It’s like rappers try harder when they’re gonna rep their city. Fast, I don’t know why rappers now days look for house/trance beats when they want a fast track. They should just go down to Lousiana and find whoever produced this and make him do a couple of more beats just like this. Matter of fact, use this beat. None of the hipsters over here would notice I wouldn’t have to listen to house beats whenever I feel to support the local rap scene.

Lil’ E – Fuck That Nigga (1995)

Fast and hard. I’m gonna play this at a party sometime soon to see if people will get buck wild, that’s what I feel like doing hearing this.

MC Spud – Creepin' hoes & niggas

Yeah. You better watch them hoes. I have no idea who MC Sprud is, no hits on google. Whatever, this goes. Bounce!

Chev – Sissy Break (????)

A bit reluctantly I gave this a listen, got to give it a change right? Chev is one of those sissy rappers we heard about. Album didn’t do much for me, this track did do. I haven’t dared listen to the lyrics really, all I know this goes..

Ruthless Juveniles – Gangster Tale (1992)

Gangsta rap is the shit.

Max Minelli – Move (Let Me In) feat. C-Loc (2008)

Baton Rouge’s Max Minelli has been a personal favourite of mine for a bit now. I’m still waiting for him to release a proper LP on Koch, who signed him a couple of years ago. This is the best track from the mixtape he dropped like a month back.

Tre-8 – Story To Tell Pt. II feat. Jace Rich & Murder Ro (2008)

This guy used to be a producer/rapper signed to No Lomit before they blew up in the mid 90’s. He split just before and started his own label, which I’ll assume didn’t do as good as No Limit. He dropped a new mixtape/album a few weeks back.

Enjoy, whoever may or may not read this....
